When it comes to the Emmys, we’re first and foremost excited to see our favorite TV characters out of their prison attire, medieval dragon queen dresses, maid uniforms, and what-have-you. And, of course, there’s the added aspect of classic Hollywood elegance that the Emmys red carpet adds — everyone’s beauty was turned up a notch (or five) this year.

This time, we noticed some themes amidst the stars: Deep side parts, pink lips, and subtle glows were everywhere. There were some surprises, too — from the teal inner eyeshadow that caused a Twitter conniption to a newly-blonde bombshell, the looks we loved the most were the ones that caught us off guard.
