Certain beauty products — think NARS blush in Orgasm, Clinique's Black Honey lipstick — are so good, they're practically famous. And, while we do love so many of those well-known, well-loved products with a loyal following, we've been wondering why others have been quietly flying under the radar. With that in mind, meet our new beauty series, Cult Classics, in which we'll introduce you to the products you really, truly should know about (and try, like, right now). They're not brand new, but trust us: They've got staying power.
So, let's talk dandruff. What's that, you say? You don't want to discuss oily clumps of dead skin cells shedding from your scalp? Yeah, we don't either — which is exactly why we love this pretty, pink, gorgeously scented shampoo. See, many dandruff shampoos out there are...intense. They come in serious-looking bottles, and seem much more like medicine than "fun beauty products." They sit in our showers, reminding us on the daily that there's something wrong with our scalps (in reality, dandruff affects about half of the population, so we're in good company).
That's precisely why we love this peony shampoo from Klorane. It's created for "sensitive" scalps, and, yes, it makes us feel much better about ourselves than most dandruff shampoos. This product is one of those beauty unicorns: It's effective, it looks pretty on a bathroom shelf, and it's downright pleasurable to use. We might be making this up, but we swear that this stuff makes our scalps less itchy on contact. We'll be stockpiling it this winter, and we suggest that you do the same — it's the whole package (literally).
Klorane Soothing Shampoo with Peony Extract, $18, available at Drugstore.com.
