Our girl-crush on Solange Knowles just got a little more serious. The musician, Instagram sensation, and creative consultant for Puma unveils her first collection for the sportswear brand. And, it's everything we hoped it would be.
The Girls of Blaze Disc Collection is a riotous display of sun-saturated color and trademark kooky styling. At Knowles’ behest, denim designer Gerlan Marcel, visual artist Hisham Bharoocha, and womanswear design duo Darlene and Lizzy Okpo each added their own stylistic interpretations to the project.
If the term "Blaze Disc" sounds familiar, that's because it was the first sneaker ever to be produced without shoelaces, and one of the brand's game-changers when it launched in 1992. To tighten the shoe, you simply had to turn a disc. So far, so retro. Here's what's new: this style has never been made for women, until now.
The sad news for our fellow Brits is that the freshman line is currently only available in the U.S. But, all is not lost. Anyone can click through to see the bangin' lookbook images featuring Solange and her crew. Let us know in the comments which style you'd flood your IG feed with, in true Solange style.
