He's done it again, folks. Dominique Ansel, the gifted baker who introduced New York City — er, the world! — first to Cronuts and then to Frozen S'mores, has managed to reach beyond our wildest baking dreams and bring back yet another unexpected but also sure-to-be-delicious treat. How does he come up with this stuff?
Cookie Shots are Ansel's latest confection sure to draw crowds. According to Grubstreet, the cookie dough is "baked on a cylindrical mold into the size and shape of a tall shot glass until crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside." Each treat is filled with ice-cold, organic, vanilla-bean-infused milk from Swede Farm in upstate New York. We can't resist this clever twist on milk and cookies.
Could this be the perfect new afternoon snack? Only time will tell. Following a limited release at SXSW, Cookie Shots are scheduled to go on sale at Dominique Ansel's Spring Street bakery tomorrow, Friday, March 14 at 3 p.m. sharp. Only 200 shots will be available for the in-store debut and the bakery will be enforcing a strict two-per-person limit, so we have no doubt there will be a line around the block. We can hear them now: "Shots shots shots shots shots shots!" (Grubstreet)
