We're all too familiar with the high-fashion versions of the trend — silky button-down shirts and drawstring pants — but that's not to assume all nighttime-geared clothes for day are quite so modest. In fact, that's not at all what Rihanna's PJs look like.
Arriving on last night's MTV Movie Awards red carpet, Rihanna wore a white, silky Ulyana Sergeenko look from the recent couture collection. And, the ensemble was a bit more sexy time than sleep time. While we're already aware of the power of an Angelina Jolie-worthy high slit, this number went much further with a loose closure on the singer's floor-length, slightly sheer, mostly open robe. In other words: lots of RiRi leg action. Of course, the white flowy top was the perfect accompaniment for the bodysuit beneath. It was, perhaps, a little too "let me slip into something more comfortable" for a red-carpet event, but head-turning (in a good way!) nonetheless.
Let's be real here: Rihanna would kill it in any of our granddads' flannel pajamas. But, for someone who's not afraid to be evocative with her personal style, this rendition of a fashion trend was much more her speed and much more unexpected among a sea of other red-carpet walkers.
