Miss Miley Cyrus has been giving North America one hell of a show every night, with her Bangerz tour drawing rave reviews and plenty of media attention. But, her non-stop "party in the USA" has taken a toll on her health. After suffering an "extreme allergic reaction" to an sinus infection antibiotic, the first leg of her tour is now officially over, with a representative confirming that the rest of her U.S. dates will be postponed until August.
The first signs of trouble started last week, when Cyrus complained of flu-like symptoms in Charlotte, North Carolina, and canceled a show. Days later, her condition worsened and she checked into a Kansas City Hospital. According to her representative, she remains hospitalized, and may need up to several weeks to recover. Thankfully, there is nothing wrong with her thumbs: "Sick of waking up to needles. #goingthruit." She also posted a dramatic selfie while wearing a duck-inspired oxygen mask. "This hospitals full of a bunch of QUACKS (get it???)" she wrote. The ultimate meta-duck face moment?
The new dates will run from August 1 through 14. There's no word just yet if her amazing cohorts Icona Pop and Sky Ferreira will rejoin the tour once it resumes. And, Cyrus is proving to be a trouper: Despite her severe illness, she plans to be on the road by May 2, to kick off her European tour in Amsterdam. Feel better, Miley! (CNN)
