We haven't seen Molly Ringwald in a movie in a long time — not since her cameo in 2001's Not Another Teen Movie. But, the Pretty In Pink actress is officially headed back to the big screen. And, we think the film is a perfect fit for the former teen star.
The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Ringwald has been cast in the upcoming remake of Jem and the Holograms. The live-action film is based on the popular '80s animated TV show. Joining Ringwald is Nashville star Aubrey Peeples as Jem, as well as newcomers Stefanie Scott, Aurora Perrineau, and Hayley Kiyoko as the Holograms. Juliette Lewis has also been cast for the film, though her exact role has yet to be revealed.
THR writes the movie is "a modern take on the mysterious pop star, and will follow the band through Los Angeles on a music-driven adventure." Filming has already begun in L.A. Let's hear it: Who's excited for this one? (The Hollywood Reporter)
