The Maleficent star's latest serving of footwear is a reminder of her penchant for wearing chunky, statement-making, "ugly" sandals.
The onscreen princess traded in ball gowns for a white, billowy, open-shoulder minidress when walking around Los Angeles on Sunday. But, it was her mid-calf gladiator sandals that made us do a double take. Fanning's festival-worthy pick featured fringe running all the way down her shins to the tips of her toes. It's fringe that's been given a dose of Miracle-Gro. It also resembles those DIY paper lanterns you probably made in elementary school, although this version is much more advanced.
We can't say we're shocked by the younger Fanning's shoe choice. It's far from out of character for her to choose odd (and kind of wonderful) shoes instead of steppers suited for a Disney heroine. Besides, this foot-covering fringe makes those block-y, Prada flatforms look like a walk in the park.
