Saved By The Bell is finally coming back to TV. But, it's not a reunion. In fact, this reboot isn't going to involve any of the original actors. Lifetime just announced plans to make what it's calling The Unauthorized Saved By The Bell Story. Consider it a behind-the-scenes exposé of what really went down during the legendary show. Since this is Lifetime, expect plenty of dirty laundry to be aired, in the most nostalgic way possible.
Even though none of the '90s sitcom stars are involved in the film, the network seems to have done its due diligence in tracking down Bayside lookalikes. Degrassi alum Dylan Everett will play Mark-Paul Gosselaar, with relative newbies Julian Works, Sam Kindseth, Alyssa Lynch, Taylor Russell McKenzie, and Tiera Skovbye taking on Mario Lopez, Dustin Diamond, Tiffani Thiessen, Lark Voorhees, and Elizabeth Berkeley, respectively. And, judging by the first cast photo, the wardrobe department also deserves praise for totally nailing Slater's signature acid-washed jeans.
Filming for the flick has already started in Vancouver, and the final project is slated for a Labor Day air date. Here's hoping it's aaaallll riiight. (Vulture)
