We promise you that one day you'll wake up, and you won't have to read about the latest attack on privacy perpetrated by anonymous hackers. Unfortunately, today is not that day.
The sun has barely set on Sony's hacking scandal, and already another group of cyber-terrorists are wreaking havoc in a digital landscape that feels increasingly like the Wild West. The latest transgression comes courtesy of a group claiming affiliation with hacker collective Anonymous, which leaked 13,000 passwords on Thursday.
According to The Daily Dot's Aaron Sankin, the passwords come from the following sites: Amazon, Walmart, PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Twitch.tv, Origin.com, Hulu Plus, Dell, and Shutterstock. Credit card information was also leaked.

To add insult to injury, the hackers also uploaded a ripped copy of The Interview, the film at the center of the recent hacking scandal that nearly crippled Sony.
The latest leak comes on the heels of another attack that paralyzed both Playstation's and Xbox's networks on Christmas day.
If you happen to have accounts with the aforementioned sites, it's recommended that you change your passwords immediately. Because we're very much at the cusp of a new frontier in cyber-terrorism, preventative measures are recommended. Visit Stay Safe Online for more information on how you can, well, stay safe online.
