UPDATE: Target just called to confirm that there will NOT be designer goods sold at stores, but there will be custom, exclusive products co-created and -designed by Target and the shops featured. Bummer.
Target unveiled their new designer platform concept today, and it is very exciting for you fashion fans who don't have easily accessible high-end designers at your local malls. Soon, Target will open up The Shops at Target within their stores, rotating different collections of designer shops in six-week intervals.
The shop-in-shops aim to recreate the ambiance and product line of Miami's The Webster (that's where all the designer goodies will come from), The Candy Store, Cos Bar cosmetics, Polka Dog Baker (for dog accessories), and Privet Home. They will still continue to do one-off collaborations with designers such as Missoni and Jason Wu, but will also have a rotating roster of brands and shops that'll switch out every two to four months.
