Beauty Trend Alert: Blow Dry Bars

We're always on the lookout for the newest beauty trends, and in the past few months, we've noticed a preponderance of salons popping up on the SoCal map that don't have a pair of scissors in sight. Blow-dry bars have completely taken over West Hollywood, Brentwood, and Beverly Hills. These blow-dry-only mini-salons don't offer cuts, colors, or trims...just professional-quality blowouts at a super wallet-friendly price. For those of us who prefer a low-maintenance regime, these spas are unfussy and to the point. Just make an appointment and in 30 minutes—and for around $35—you get a dome that looks like you're ready for the red carpet. Most offer a variety of styles with cheeky names, like The Cosmopolitan (think Carrie Bradshaw-worthy big, loose curls), Southern Comfort (Dallas-inspired volume), or The Mai Tai (beachy wavy curls a la Brooke Shields in Blue Lagoon). And for those of you with more down-to-earth hair needs, you can also stop by one of these specialty salons for a bad hair day fix, no appointment necessary.
