Once upon a time, launching your own fashion business required a whole lotta capital, a decent amount of luck, and a preternatural knack for crunching numbers. But times are a-changing, and at the forefront of innovation is New York-based jewelry label Chloe + Isabel, a brand helping college students get a taste of entrepreneurship — without having to reach into their pockets.
Known for elegantly wearable accessories for both the edgy gals (the Chloes) and classic ladies (the Isabels) in all of us, Chloe + Isabel designs an awesome range of statement pieces to subtle studs empowering young women ambassadors to open their own e-boutiques selling C+I jewelry. Each Ambassador is given her own online space to set up shop, and each sale earns a 30% commission for the participant. Plus, since this is college and nothing beats a campus soiree, C+I Ambassadors also get to host "first look" parties, stocked with giveaways, iPad-enabled shopping and the opportunity to snap sweet street style pics of all the chic attendees. But most importantly, each Ambassador gets first-hand experience promoting, hosting and running a trunk show — an invaluable lesson, if you ask us!
