Like the mythical unicorn that is In-N-Out Burger, at this point, we basically never thought the The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (which has been around for 50 years) would ever arrive on NYC soil. So, today is a good day in the East Coast vs. West Coast battle—L.A.'s version of Starbucks officially opened today in Manhattan, appropriately enough on Broadway in the Fashion District—yeah, too bad the tents have moved on over to Lincoln Center. "The Bean," as Us Weekly characters and hipsters alike refer to it, serves an alternative to designer coffee shops and the 'Bucks, with the new location offering up the store's usual fine-grade, small-batch, custom-roasted Arabica coffee, as well as hand-plucked, whole-leaf teas, baked goods, and a full line of branded merch. Move on over, sparkly Miu Mius—Fashion Week's hottest accessory might just be a coffee cup.
1412 Broadway (at 39th Street).
