Pink Cutting Her Own Hair In Self-Isolation Is All of Us

At this point, it's crystal clear that anyone able must self-isolate to help flatten the curve of the COVID-19 pandemic. According to countless experts, including those at The Centers For Disease Control and Prevention, ignoring this mandate could overwhelm hospitals and cause our healthcare system to collapse when we need it the most.

It's an unprecedented time, and many of us are experiencing the same restless feelings. Paired with the fact that salons around the country temporarily closed last week, the urge to DIY a haircut or colour is growing — even among celebrities.

Take Pink, for example. The singer took to IGTV yesterday to document a DIY haircut. "When I drink, I get really, really brilliant ideas," she said before revealing the latest update to her pixie cut. "I think I'm looking pretty good... Am I giving like, Alyssa Milano vibes right now? Charlize Theron?"

But Pink isn't alone. Jonathan Van Ness and Elle Fanning both debuted drastic new looks, while Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards walked her Instagram followers through her root touch-up process at home. Our advice? If you're going to DIY a new look, there's no harm in booking (and pre-paying, if you can) for an appointment at your local salon as well, which is surely in need of support during these important closures. As for Pink's new cut, she says that she might fix it at home. After all, it's only hair, so in the words of Pink, "Stay safe, stay home! Cut your hair. Screw it!"
The World Health Organization says you can protect yourself by washing your hands, covering your mouth when sneezing or coughing (ideally with a tissue), avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth and don't get too close to people who are coughing, sneezing or with a fever.
