Light and Airy—Rodney Cutler went for an airy updo at the Tadashi Shoji spring '11 show: Start by applying a texturizing spray to dry hair. Create a side-part, then pull hair back into two ponytails, one on top of the other (leaving the top section out). Apply a pomade to the top section, and curl hair starting at the roots in diagonal sections with a 1" curling iron. Brush out the top section to create waves. Twist the two ponytails together into a loose bun at the back and secure with bobby-pins.

Garden Party—Soft and romantic, stylist Odile Gilbert created chiffon-looped braids for Jason Wu's spring '11 show. Start by applying a smoothing product to damp hair to tame flyaways and frizz. Next, create a side-part and blow dry hair straight. Separate dry hair into four sections, tie a long ribbon or piece of fabric around the top of each section, and braid (leaving excess fabric at the bottom of each braid). Spray each braid with hairspray for hold, then collect the braids and tie the extra fabric at the end of each into a bow. Bring the braids up to the nape and secure with pins. Finish with hairspray.

On the Side—At Chanel's fall '11 show, stylist Sam McKnight whipped up a textured side bun balanced by long, angled pieces in front. Get the look by creating a side-part, then spray texturizing product onto dry hair. Pull hair into a side ponytail and tease for texture. Then roll hair into a bun and pin. Let the hair swoop across in the front and add a pin or flower to the bun if desired.

French with a Twist—At Michael Kors Fall 2011, stylist Orlando Pita whipped a French twist with natural texture. Start with a middle part and twist hair around and up and pin. Let the ends stick out to add to the messy, undone feel.

Slippery When Wet—Stylist Neil Moodie created a beach-inspired, texturized look for the Ruffian spring '11 show, and luckily, this style is far from complicated: Apply Bumble's Straight to damp hair to give it that extra wet look, then add gel for hold. Create a side part, then, using just your fingers, pull the hair back into a ponytail and twist into a chignon. Secure with bobby-pins.

Retro-Chic—Inspired by the 1940s, stylist Paul Hanlon went for a Rita Hayworth-esque wave for Philosophy spring '11. At the show, Hanlon curled the entire head, then set the hair in pin-curls. For an easier DIY, start by applying a volumizing mousse, then blow dry hair smooth with a round brush. Pull hair back into a low ponytail or bun. Keep a side swept section out in front and curl the front section with a curling iron. Lightly brush the front curl (or use your fingers) to soften the wave. Finish with hairspray.
