Bloody Good: True Blood Gets A Beauty Line

Is any TV show out there more ripe for a beauty collaboration than True Blood? The opening credits alone, with that perfectly lacquered, cherry-red pout are enough to put any beauty junkie into a makeup stupor. Well, good news for all of you Truebies out there: InStyle is reporting that HSN will launch a full line of True Blood-inspired beauty products, from nail polish to perfume, this August.
There's the Forsaken perfume, body cream, and body powder, plus a candle, home diffuser, and home fragrance set designed by D.L. & Co. The line will also feature six new nail lacquers by Deborah Lippmann, including a black cherry shade — inspired by fanged fashion maven Pam — that we predict will be the standout seller. This collection also marks the launch of Lippmann's first foray into face cosmetics with a blackberry-hued lip color that she says is "an innovative lipstick formula that provides a nail lacquer-inspired fashion-forward intensity, shine, and color." Here's hoping there's more to come on that front!

This isn't the first time True Blood has inspired a beauty collection — die-hard fans will remember Tarte's line from last fall, created in collaboration with the show's makeup department head, Brigette Myre-Ellis. However, this line with HSN represents the show's first full-scale foray into all beauty channels, not just makeup. Perhaps they'll take a page out of the Twilight playbook and launch a permanent collection in the future? And if it means we can finally replicate that sultry crimson pout, then we're totally in.
