Since fashion is always half a year ahead of itself, it’s easy to forget the initial excitement of seeing the goodies that went down the runway. So, when designer campaigns are revealed, our memories are happily jogged and we can plan our wardrobes with revived inspiration. Case in point, this ultra-cool Alexander Wang video for his fall ’12 women's collection, which will make you want to cover your mouth in something netted and never wash your hair again.
Against a background of bass-bumping techno, the video features model Kati Nescher on set, getting spritzed and pinned to perfection by stylist Karl Templer. And oh how we love the I’m-not-trying simplicity of her barely-there makeup and wet hair crisscrossed in shaggy, face-framing layers. Plus, Wang's highly- structured pieces hit the mark, including ruched bodycon dresses with matching elbow length gloves, high-collared outerwear in glossy leathers, and lacquered tweeds and turtlenecks that look like they hit the hole-puncher. To top it off, the video's high contrast black-and-white palette perfectly suits the range's chief hues and channels the designer’s downtown cool aesthetic to a (no pun intended) T. The campaign is set to run in LOVE, CR Fashion Book, and Interview in September, but we've got an insider's peek at the goods below.
