Diana Vreeland Overload: September Can’t Come Soon Enough!

In today's wait, why didn't this happen sooner? news: Diana Vreeland will be honored with a Rodeo Drive Walk of Style plaque next month (smack-dab in the middle of NYFW, how appropriate!). As the the first editorial figure to be featured, Vreeland will be in chic company (posthumously, of course) with Tom Ford, Donatella and Gianni Versace, Giorgio Armani, Manolo Blahnik, and Mario Testino as recipients of the elite award.
The editor, who believed "too much good taste can be boring," will always be known for her quick wit and unapologetic approach to fashion. Therefore, a permanent spot on Rodeo Drive, amongst Black Card-wielding shoppers and Pretty Woman fanatics is a fitting tribute to the woman who never took style too seriously.

The latest announcement is not without impecable timing: Lisa Immordino Vreeland (wife of Vreeland's grandson, Alexander) will release her latest documentary, Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has to Travel mere days after the commemorative ceremony on Rodeo. You can peep the trailer for the vid below, which is a must-see for anyone who agrees that pink is the navy blue of India. (Telegraph)
