It seems everyone has an opinion about the much-hyped Nicki-Mariah feud brewing courtesy of American Idol — including President Obama. The women, both judges on reality competition, have been at odds since the beginning of the month, with Minaj cursing out Carey (the whole thing was caught on tape, of course), and Carey telling Barbara Walters that Minaj threatened to shoot her.
Critics say that if the fight continues, it could impact the show — though the more cynical among them say the clash is all an attempt to boost ratings. Regardless, President Obama doesn’t believe the drama will drag on, he said on Y100’s “The Yo! Show.” “I think that they are going to be able to sort it out. I am confident,” Obama said. “I’m all about bringing people together, working for the same cause. I think both outstanding artists are going to be able to make sure that they’re moving forward and not going backward.”

Obama said he has gotten to know Carey through some events she’s done for the campaign, and called her a “wonderful lady.” “Nicki I don’t know, but I’ve got her on my iPod,” he said. You hear that ladies? The president wants you to work it out. (Politico)
