Some ladies just die for those red-soled shoes, to the point that plenty of stories have surfaced about gals giving their non-Louboutins a rouge-tinted makeover. But, for the always-crafting Martha Stewart, taking something that already exists without adding personalized tweaks and customizations simply won't do. Which is why — gasp — she paints her Louboutin soles black.
Cue Carrie Bradshaw's shopping bags coming down to a crash and Madison Avenue grinding to a halt. Yeah, she said it: She paints. Her Louboutins. Black. According to InStyle, Stewart says, "I don’t like them red, even though they’re his trademark. But he doesn’t mind. He said it’s okay if I do that — I asked him!” Well, thank goodness she took it up with the auteur, but doesn't that feel just a wee bit unnecessary? Is Martha nervous about her readers feeling ostracized by her high-fashion ways? Isn't it just a tad peculiar when ladies are just dying for a pair, or is Stewart proving that crafting reigns supreme?
Or, maybe (wait for it), she's just the type of lady who sees a red shoe and wants to paint it black. (InStyle)
