In what seems like an effort to make our wildest dreams come true, designer labels like Giles Deacon, Henry Holland, Stella McCartney, and Mulberry (among others) made custom puppy couture for the Collars & Coats Gala Ball in London on November 8. So, yes, heart-melting dogs will actually be modeling an amazing array of British designers. This is real. Though we were initially surprised by all the big names willing to participate in the dog walk, some research led us to a no-duh new discovery about the gala: It's kind of a big deal.
This annual puppy party, now in its fourth year, has been a staple for Brit celebrities like Simon Cowell, Brian May, and Judi Dench. Yes, that's Dame Judi Dench. This year's event might gain even more notoriety: Aside from all the fashion talent that will be present, Grammy-Award-winning jazz musician Jamie Cullum will perform an hour-long set.

Now that we've gotten word of the best party ever, we can't stop pondering all the endless dog-walk possibilities! Will Gareth Pugh send a goth golden retriever down the runway? What about Vivienne Westwood's punk pug designs? We're on a roll here, no?
While some of the cheaper tables price around £3,500 (yikes!), proceeds go to the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home animal refuge. This good cause is quickly making the event one of our favorite's from the island, despite this year's vague theme: "Best of Britain." Well, they do know their dogs! Have you seen that adorable pooch on Downton Abbey? Maybe she'll make a surprise appearance!
