Now that the dust has settled from last night, how is your post-election-night hangover treating you? While there were plenty of reasons to celebrate last night all across the country, a particular bright spot came out of our region: Maryland voters cast their ballots in favor of Question 6, approving gay marriage by popular vote.
Last night, Maryland, Maine, and Washington joined six other states and the District of Columbia in saying that lawmakers will no longer stand in the way of same-sex unions. The act was championed by Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley, who tweeted today: "A message to Maryland’s kids: whether your parents happen to be gay or straight, your families are equal under the law."
You may have noticed that we’re big fans of weddings around here, so we're delighted to know that we can expect even more invitations to land in our mailboxes soon.
