Andrej Does Andy: Pejic Dresses Up As Warhol’s Factory Girls In Du Jour

"Andy [Warhol] would have been fascinated by Andrej," writes former Interview magazine editor and Warhol Factory veteran Glenn O'Brien in the intro to Du Jour's spread featuring Andrej Pejic dressed as some of the pop artist's favorite female muses. No doubt there. Pejic is exactly the kind of gender-bending, mercurial beauty Warhol loved. Moreover, the androgynous model seems to thrive on being a canvas for photographers and stylists, alike. Basically, it's a crying shame they could never have collaborated.
But at least we have this: A photo series featuring Pejic dolled up as three of Warhol's favorite Factory Girls — Nico, Edie Sedgwick, and Candy Darling. As usual, fashion's favorite changeling pulls them all off with ease...and though he looks just gorgeous under red, polka-dotted lighting (who wouldn't...right?), our favorite is Pejic's turn as Warhol himself. Kind of amazing, right? As O'Brien says, "As for Andrej does Andy, I think the boss would have looked at Andrej and said, 'Oh, gee, I wish I looked that good.'" (Du Jour)
