Over the last two days, it's been hard to imagine finding anything particularly funny — which is presumably why Saturday Night Live made the call to go with a poignant, heartbreaking cold open featuring a performance of "Silent Night" by the New York Children's Chorus.
Despite being a Christmas carol normally reserved for happier sing-a-longs, this was a fitting choice. The sweet, pure, and yet, incredibly saddening notes of this performance really say it all right now. (Deadspin)
