Constant purveyor of cool VICE has announced a first in its media empire: The publisher has made an acquisition. The mag that started as a free publication in an office in Montreal (an office that this writer happened to intern at for exactly 700 years) has purchased the wink-heavy British style book i-D Magazine.
Don't fret, fans of i-D, because the print magazine isn't going anywhere. In fact, VICE is claiming that they are just going to keep doing what they do best: Help the pub beef up its website, produce better video content, all while letting i-D keep the original content circulating.
VICE has been in and out of the style sector for a while now, taking a radical and totally strange approach to fashion reporting, so this is a new direction for the mag-turned-blog-turned-empire. It'll be exciting, and as i-D recently tweeted, "WE JUST GOT MARRIED."
