Rooney Vogues On Vogue Cover, Has Fashion Panic Attacks

rooneyvogue
Despite reports that Anna Wintour-fave Kate Upton had scored Vogue's February cover, the honors went to kick-ass actress Rooney Mara, who you may remember from her goth-glam appearance in the mag's November '11 issue. Her second outing on the front of the glossy is certainly a departure, with a close-up that captures cheekbones sharp enough to cut diamonds. And, while Mara will be resuming her role as Lisbeth Salander in The Girl Who Played With Fire, the release date has yet to be announced...which left Vogue chatting up the star on anxiety, specifically of the fashion kind.
Despite being a red-carpet sure thing, Mara isn't into the whole fashion step-and-repeat game: "The thing is, it’s kind of an annoying part of the job, because I’m not a model, and I don’t want to be. I didn’t try to be a style icon. I’m just not that interested in that world."

Furthermore, she's not really the social type, so walking the paparazzi-filled "nightmare" (her words) probably calls for a whole lot of Paxil: "It’s a panic attack waiting to happen...When we wrap a film and everyone claps and cheers, I turn red. And then I have to walk out onto the middle of this carpet and there are all these photographers, and they’re all screaming at you. And usually there’s a party at the other end of it, so it’s not even like I have solace at the end of the carpet! It’s like then I have to walk into my other nightmare!" We're guessing her upcoming co-hostess job at the Met Ball this May won't exactly be her idea of fun.
