You know the saying, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"? Well, it looks like Jessica Chastain has discovered a winning sartorial solution to drab winter dressing: Black plus white equals pure sophistication. That's right, even though she reserves her va-va-voom moments for the red carpet (that Calvin Klein frock from Sunday's Globes still has us weak in the knees), it's her off-duty wardrobe that has us busting out the good old No. 2 pencil and taking notes.
Apparently, channeling a bit of Hollywood's golden era isn't as hard as we though — all one really needs is some sharp tailoring and curlers. For her Daily Show with Jon Stewart appearance yesterday, the Zero Dark Thirty actress opted for a sleek Dolce & Gabbana getup with a classic pair of strappy sandals and doctor's bag. Of course, the super-simple ensemble was a perfect match for her fiery mane and porcelain skin. It just goes to show — a little bit goes a long way.
