One-Two Punch: Lady Mary Michelle Dockery Stuns Twice This Weekend!

While her 9-to-5 is playing the "Lady"-like Mary Crawley in our fave period piece since Pride and Prejudice, it's her red-carpet résumé that's also making Michelle Dockery one to watch. Sure, we all know that the wardrobe of her Downton Abbey character stays on set once the cameras stop rolling, but it's always a breath of fresh air to see the prim and proper brunette clad in something a bit more eye-catching (exhibit A: her Alexandre Vauthier number at this year's Globes).
And, unless you've been living under a rock sans smartphone, you know we're in the thick of awards season — so, Dockery naturally has a slew of soirées to attend. This past weekend, the actress stopped by not one, but two events where she demonstrated her bona fide fashion cred. The first: A patterned Peter Pilotto piece for Entertainment Weekly’s Pre-SAG Awards party at the Chateau. A far cry from the drop-waists she's accustomed to wearing, the fitted frock was an edgy departure for Dockery, especially when teamed with red stilettos and a matching lip.

Doesn't Dockery look divine in this silky Chado Ralph Rucci gown? Sure, there's almost enough side-boob to deem this look nearly NSFW, but we can't help but think the designer had her in mind while crafting this dress. Not only does it fit her to a T, but it's a great combo of her classic charm and affinity for the unexpected. Of course, it didn't hurt her best-dressed chances that she matched the frock with a side-swept faux bob and statement earring (that's right, only one piece of ear candy — how very Sienna Miller of the Downton star!).
