Meet The Man Who Walks Stars Through Their Red-Carpet Meltdowns

Remember when Cameron Diaz hit the 2008 Academy Awards red carpet, clad in a crazy-chic John Galliano gown? While her beau back then may have been model-slash-actor Paul Sculfor, she didn't bring him along as her date — instead, she had Christopher Gaida on her arm. Never heard of him? Well, that's sort of the point: He's the "Celebrity Whisperer," and coaches A-listers through red-carpet meltdowns during awards season.
Though his job requires he remain invisible, the escort has penned a tell-all tome (appropriately titled Arm Candy), and he's naturally dishing a ton of dirt. Apparently, back in 2007, when Megan Fox was just an up-and-comer, she panicked pre-onstage appearance and nearly avoided the podium altogether. However, it was Gaida who calmed her nerves and got her to take the mic like a seasoned star. But, not all recounts have a happy ending — Sharon Stone insisted he remain three paces ahead of her at the 1999 VH1 Vogue Fashion Awards, and demanded he never glance back at her. Ouch!
