Like it or not, when it comes to starting meaningful discussions and staying true to her heart, Lena Dunham has a pretty exemplary record. When it comes to style? Well, she's kind of hit-or-miss. (And we're not just talking about yellow mesh tank tops on a Wednesday night.) Typically, her red-carpet choices are as controversial as her plot lines, but at the Writer's Guild East Coast Awards last night, she finally got it right.
The breakout Girls writer/star/director (etc., etc...) accepted the award for Best New Series wearing a strapless, tea-length Reed Krakoff number. While her voluminous gowns have been a bit too mother-of-the-bride in the past, the cut of this more youthful dress showed off her figure. Paired with equally enhancing strappy sandals, slightly mussed hair, and just a touch of smoky eye, she worked the red carpet like never before. The pattern on the dress even complemented her tattoo! If that's not a win, we don't know what is.
