Youth Lagoon, D’Angelo, And More Hot Concerts This Week

Youth Lagoon, Eddi Front: Bowery Ballroom, March 6, $16
While few things unite singer/songwriter, Eddi Front, and the hazy bedroom pop of Youth Lagoon, this bill somehow makes perfect sense. Each artist brings a gut-wrenching emotionality to their music, as they conjure past loves and future hopes. It's the sort of show that you'd think was sappy, were it not executed so perfectly.

Wednesday, March 6, 6 p.m., Bowery Ballroom, 6 Delancey Street (between Bowery and Chrystie Street); 212-533-2111.

Rustie, Shlohmo, Jackmaster, Oneman, D33J: Output, March 7, $15
For better or worse, Williamsburg's first loud, glitzy, nightclub-in-all-meanings-of-the-word has opened on Wythe, and we're beginning to see the results. And while some still grumble about the changes to the neighborhood Output represents, shows like Thursday's awesomely stacked Rustie gig should quiet some of those sentiments. Even if you're a die-hard hater, this one is going to be absolutely huge.

Thursday, March 7, 10 p.m., Output, 74 Wythe Avenue (between North 11th and North 12th streets); Brooklyn; No phone

Kavinsky, Dave 1, Alex English: Webster Hall, March 8, $10
When Kavinksy showed up on the Drive soundtrack a few years ago, his song became synonymous with the movie. Now the French electro star is back with a new record, Outrun, and it deals in largely the same '80s action movie tropes and dark nostalgia. Let's hope he mixes in some of his old dancefloor bangers for his show on Friday.

Friday, March 8, 10 p.m., Webster Hall, 125 East 11th Street (between 3rd and 4th avenues); 212-353-1600.
