It’s only been a few months since Muji has nestled into its SoMa hood, bringing along selections of minimalistic-meets-functional styles and house wares. And we must have made a good impression, because the Japanese retailer seemingly loves the Bay so much, it’s making plans for a second location!
This time around, the company will venture outside our 7x7 square miles and settle within San Jose, at the base of the Fairmont Hotel Annex. And we won’t have to wait too long to have our very own South Bay locale — Muji plans to cut the red ribbon on April 16! Talk about fast fashion! This marks the second time a Japanese retailer is picking S.F. twice over L.A., and we can’t help but rub it in!

We’ll be matching Muji's pace and racing over on opening day to be one of the first 1,000 visitors to scoop up an exclusive bag, illustrated with a map of San Jose. You might recall, the S.F. location’s opening went from empty to jam-packed in a flash, so jot down the deets below, and save us a spot in line!
When: Tuesday, April 16, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: Muji, 170 South Market Street (between West San Fernando and West San Carlos streets); No phone.
