Do you remember your best day at school, ever? Was it winning a prize in assembly? Or being invited to sit at the cool kids' table at lunch? Well, whatever your educational highlight was, we’re betting it is not as good as the one the pupils of St Martins Hill school experienced last week, when Will Smith dropped by and rapped the theme tune to the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. That’s right. The best opening credits song, ever, performed by the star and Hollywood legend Will Smith. Where’s a time machine when you need one?
The star was in town with his son Jayden, who is currently supporting Justin Beiber on tour. He wanted to see the “real London” and so, as you do, was taken to Brixton and shown around by tour guides Labour MPs Chuka Umunna and Tessa Jowell. If the Members of Parliament were hoping the Hollywood actor’s inherent coolness would rub off on them then they were sorely misguided as can be seen in the following video. As the crowd explodes with delight, Umunna (the one in the blue suit) can clearly be seen getting his groove on in a not particularly convincing fashion. We would even go so far as to whisper “dad dancing.” Still, the children got to end their week with a bang and Will Smith got to experience what Lambeth is all about. Let’s hope he managed to squeeze in a trip to Brixton market while he was there.
