Galliano Confirmed To Teach At Parsons This Spring

UPDATE: Parsons the New School for Design confirms that Galliano will be teaching a class this spring, though no word yet on any plans for a more permanent engagement. The school released the following statement: “We believe over the past two years Galliano has demonstrated a serious intent to make amends for his past actions, and as part of this workshop, Parsons students will have the opportunity to engage in a frank conversation with Mr. Galliano about the challenges and complications of leading a design house in the 21st century.” (On The Runway)
UPDATE: When it comes to John Galliano, the rumour mill keeps on turning. Reports are now in that the disgraced designer could take up a teaching position at NYC's Parsons New School for Design. The college's dean of fashion, Simon Collins has been reported to say that he loves Galliano and intimated that he would be happy to have the designer teach at the college. Oh, really now?

To be totally honest, this news feel a little smoke and mirrors to us. Whatever does happen with the designer's career, it needs to happen soon before the rumour mill becomes a travelling circus of claims and hypotheses. (Grazia)

The rumours of John Galliano taking a teaching post have been put to bed by Central Saint Martins, the disgraced designer's alma mater. Last week, the powers that be issued a statement to address the whisperings: "John Galliano does not have a teaching post at Central Saint Martins. For several years, second-year students from [the women's wear BA Fashion course] have been [given] a project on a theme set by John Galliano. This year, the theme was the paintings of Edward Hopper. John Galliano came in to comment on the designs of 12 selected students who had earlier presented the strongest work. There will be no further comment from the college about this."(WWD)

Can this be true? Reports are in that disgraced designer John Galliano has mooted plans that he would like to teach at a fashion school.

Currently in residence at Oscar de la Renta’s design studio (working on the autumn '13 collection, we presume), the designer is currently at the center of a fresh round of whispers around his future.
While all of this is at a hypothetical stage at present, it is interesting to think about what Galliano's next step could be. Perhaps a return to his alma mater, Central Saint Martins? Or maybe he would stay stateside at Parsons? Either way, he is not telling — so continue to take bets for the foreseeable future. (The Telegraph)
And in the meantime, tell us what you think: Are we ready for Galliano's second act? Or do we need more time to be able to forgive and forget?
