With an ensemble cast featuring the likes of James Franco, Paul Rudd, Jason Segel, and Emma Watson, you'd expect This Is The End to be some kind of Funny or Die skit or a post-April Fools' Day prank. But, we're excited (and a little nervous!) to say that this is a real-deal flick, directed by Rogen and Evan Goldberg.
Taking place in Franco's fictional L.A. manse (we suspect his silver screen neighbors love him way more than those in Silver Lake!), the comedy features zero method acting, with actors playing caricatures of themselves. For example, Mindy Kaling admits that she wants to sleep with Michael Cera; Rihanna slaps Cera after he grabs her "bum bum"; and Jonah Hill jokes about heroin (or is it cocaine?). But, rather than get busted by the LAPD or TMZ, this epic rager faces a more dramatic fate — the apocalypse. The survivors are left with a stash of bottled water, a few dozen beers, and exactly one Milky Way bar, the latter of which Watson steals by threatening the dudes with an ax. (Girl power!)
Honestly, we lost track of how many actors lend their chops to this summer film. Without looking at IMDb, can you keep an accurate tally?
