Hands up — who finds their baby videos to be slightly embarrassing? Well, then you can imagine what Prince Charles must be feeling right now, as rarely seen footage of his toddler days has just been released on YouTube. This glimpse into the childhood of the heir to the throne was screened on Thursday at Windsor Castle as part of a celebration of the British Film Industry. The footage is part of a collection of clips released to the web that date back to Queen Victoria and were supplied by the Royal Film Collection at the British Film Institute.
It is endearing to see a toddling prince take faltering steps toward his mother, who beams looks at him with barely concealed joy. A sight you don’t normally see at state dinners and charity galas, that's for sure. (The Times)
