There's nothing that gets us quite as jazzed up as a good ASOS rumor (remember when we were teased with their rumored U.S. store?). And now, the e-tailer is at the heart of another exciting bit of buzz: ASOS and BFC (British Fashion Council) are discussing an initiative for up-and-coming, young designers.
BFC chairman and Net-A-Porter founder Natalie Massenet, along with ASOS' chief exec Nick Robertson, are in preliminary talks to create a working space, pattern cutting facilities, and access to ASOS' U.K. manufacturing base for new designers at the brand's Camden headquarters. This would help designers avoid the startup costs that can often hinder the launch of their collections, and indeed, limit our wardrobes.

ASOS is reportedly prepared to pay upfront for runs of product to sell on the site's 'marketplace', which would also help designers bring in revenue. This is the first step in making the BFC more business-focused by making sustainable investments in fashion businesses in the U.K.
It's a very clever idea: ASOS will now have access to Britain's best budding designers, funneling their collections directly to their site. With the help of BFC, ASOS is essentially calling 'dibs' on the freshest faces on the fashion block. (Drapers)
