We're willing to bet that Jill Abramson, executive editor of The New York Times, has one of the hardest jobs in NYC. Not only is she responsible for the content and overall well-being of the paper, but she's perpetually faced with tough decisions when it comes to covering sensitive topics, as was the case during the Boston bombings. Abramson discussed enforcing restraint in her newsroom when faced with rumors generated by social media, which has completely changed the way news is now reported. “In Boston, what was first and foremost was making sure our standards were understood," said Abramson. The editor also dished on the months and months of research that went into the paper's recent Pulitzer Prize-winning story on a 2012 avalanche in the Cascade Mountains, and dissed the new BuzzFeed-approved native advertising.
