Ever since NBC announced Jimmy Fallon's big move to the Tonight Show, we've been waiting with bated breath for his replacement. The rumor mill has been swirling with talk of Seth Meyers taking over for some time, and now the network brass has made it official.
According to a statement from NBC chairman Bob Greenblatt, Meyers will take over the slot starting next February. “We think Seth is one of the brightest, most insightful comedy writers and performers of his generation,” said Greenblatt. Meyers is expected to stay on as head writer at Saturday Night Live through January, when he'll start prepping for his hosting gig. No word yet on who will take over at the Weekend Update desk, but here's hoping he has half the charm of Meyers. (Paste)
