Calling all poets and scribes. Vivienne Westwood wants YOU. No, we’re not off our rocker, she actually does, and it’s all in attempt to campaign against climate change.
Ever the activist (and a poet herself, didn’t you know?) the punk designer is calling out to young Londoners, asking them to put pen to paper in support of her Climate Revolution campaign, while channeling her mantra of, "buy less, choose well, make it last." Here, here.
Coming up quickly off the back of Prada’s recently launched writing contest, Westwood reminds us, “the world needs poets.” Working in collaboration with YouYou Mentoring, the poetry competition – sorry, "literary project" – is open to 17-to-21-year-olds, and the prize is a series of mentoring master classes. As if Dame Westwood’s golden seal of approval wasn’t enough? Reckon you've got what it takes? You’ve got until June 24 to pen your piece. (Telegraph)
