And The Highest-Paid British Businessperson Is…

As if working for Burberry wasn’t enough to make us jealous, CEO, Angela Ahrendts has just been announced as the highest-paid person in corporate Britain. Note, we said “person”, not “woman” — now, that’s something to say for the strength of girl power.
Cashing in on a mammoth £16.9 million last year alone (almost £5 mil’ more than the next chief-exec in the country), Angela is one of only three women to feature in the latest FTSE 100 list, as well as snagging the top spot in this recent report from Manifest and MM&K about Britain's top bosses. The report reveals that Ahrendts’s overall pay included an array of bonuses, benefits, and the sale of a whopping £11.9 million worth of bonus shares. Wowza. As the CEO of Burberry since 2006, we knew she wasn't exactly scrabbling around for loose change, but neither did we think the numbers were this big.
Now, we haven’t done the sums, but we know that is a lot of Burberry trenches. (Vogue)
