In D.C., summer is usually accompanied by a slightly slower pace — could it be the sweltering heat? But thankfully, that sluggishness doesn't have to affect your social calendar in the least. This week, two top-notch events are on our radar, and are worth penciling into your planner.
First up, get your ticket for local charity G.L.A.M.'s second-annual fashion event, which combines pop-up shops, a fashion presentation with local blogger-models, and a can't-miss raffle featuring prizes from Fornash, Blair Ritchey, Urban Chic, and more. A general admission ticket gets you access to an open bar; spring for the VIP ticket to get a gift bag and two tickets for the raffle.
When: Thursday, June 20, from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
Where: 906 H Street NE; no phone. Tickets available here.

On Saturday, hit up Bloomingdale's in Chevy Chase for a (very early) morning beauty session with local blogger Kara Manos of Politics of Pretty. The 7:30 a.m. trend presentation will showcase summer color trends for lips and eyes, as well as skin-care innovations. Make a reservation, and the $25 fee counts toward your beauty purchases.
