Oh happy day: WWD today announced that Alexander McQueen, choice fashion house of glamazons and future English queens alike, has inked a fragrance deal with Procter and Gamble.
P&G Prestige vice president Luigi Feola describes the monumentality of this move by the label: “We believe it’s probably the most prominent brand that is not yet playing in the luxury beauty market.” Although the fashion house is not a fragrance virgin (the designer's previous two fragrances, Kingdom and My Queen, have since been discontinued), this deal with P&G Prestige marks a totally new phase in McQueen beauty.
The biggest difference this time? Sarah Burton, who has apparently been antsy to get her hands dirty in the fragrance world. While there is not yet a release date for the first fragrance, we can already imagine that it will smell of glamour, danger, and Elizabethan collars — guys, this is going to be good.
