Madonna As Marlene Dietrich? Sure, We Can Get Into That

Not to be fangirl geeks, but we're really digging Madonna's look from last night's premiere of the MDNA tour documentary. In case anyone was doubting whether or not she's still got it, consider this confirmation that yes, she obviously does. Madonna is truly the perfect celeb to don this glamorous tomboy/femme style that directly references Marlene Dietrich's iconically androgynous look from the 1930s film Morocco. Even if you haven't seen it, you'd definitely recognize the black-and-white film still of Dietrich in a suit looking like a baller. There's also a scene in which a tailcoats-clad Dietrich kisses another woman, which was very scandalous at the time. Leave it to Madonna to subtly imply the sex scandals of yore while still looking edgy by today's standards.

Also, can we talk about Madonna's visage? She continues to age backwards, clearly. You can bet we're going to copy this super-foxy makeup look (the top hat, we're going to have to work up to). Our favorite part? Those vintage-fabulous, heart-shaped red lips. Her makeup artist for the night, Sammy H. Mourabit, contoured her lips to get that shape, and then mixed two shades (Margaux and Annette) of Votre Vu's French Kiss Moisture Riche Lipstick (available in September) to get 'em nice and voluptuous.

We certainly hope Madonna keeps wearing suits and red lipstick — though, knowing her, next time we see her she'll be in something completely different.
