Sofia Coppola Was Once A Coffee-Fetching Intern, Too — For Lagerfeld

If you happen to be fortunate enough to land an internship at the Chanel atelier in Paris, your responsibilities are far from test-driving couture and entertaining Choupette with a toy mouse on a purse chain string. It's hard work. And Sofia Coppola filled in a few of the specifics for Vogue UK. Granted the Oscar-winning filmmaker wasn't around when Lagerfeld's favorite feline ruled all, but she did intern at the storied fashion house as a teen in the '80s.
As Coppola says, her internship was kinda just like all of ours. She made coffee for her boss and shadowed him while he worked, so she could gain a true understanding for the profession. "I got to see Karl Lagerfeld doing haute couture sketches for the final shows," she tells Vogue UK. "It was incredible — he is so creative. I was getting coffee and doing intern stuff, but just to be around him was amazing." Okay, perhaps her experience wasn't exactly like our summer before junior year but, hey, we both learned how to make a cup of joe like a boss. (Vogue UK)
