Abercrombie & Fitch Stops Selling T-Shirt After Taylor Swift Fans Lash Out

2013-6-abercrombie20-1
Let this be a warning to all who plan on making jabs at Taylor Swift in the future: The Swifties are armed and will stop at nothing to defend their forever love-struck leader. Abercrombie & Fitch landed itself in another controversy when one of its paper-thin tees read, "#moreboyfriendsthant.s." Aside from the whole misuse of the hashtag (don't they know periods aren't allowed in hashtags?), the "t.s." in question is presumably — alright, most definitely — referring to Taylor Swift. And slut-shaming the country-pop music star does not sit well with her fans (and some of us non-fans, too).

Slut-shaming in general is a no-go in our books. Sure, Taylor Swift's dating history is a bit complicated, but whose isn't? Thankfully, there exists proactive Swifties out there who do more than tweet their anger. In fact, they started a Change.org petition to get the company to stop the sale of the T-shirt. A YouTube video quickly surfaced urging fans to contact A&F's public relations. Those who rallied heard a voicemail from the company saying, "If you are calling regarding the Taylor Swift T-shirt, please note this is no longer available." Bam.
But no matter how much sucking up Abercrombie did (even tweeting it loves her music), it was left with a warning, "@Abercrombie there's nothing we do better than revenge ok?" Noted. (Racked)
