Looks like someone's been reading Refinery29. In less than two weeks, our wish for more female superheros has kind of, maybe been answered. From the brilliantly feminist mind who brought you Freaks and Geeks and Bridesmaids, comes Susan Cooper, an awesome lady-spy movie in the tradition of James Bond and friends.
Alright, so Bond isn't really a superhero per se, but he is pretty kick ass. Plus, a part of us has always entertained the idea of a female power-spy kicking some butt in sharp stilettos while somehow managing to keep her hair fly-away free (Anne Hathaway as Catwoman doesn't count). No word yet as to who's playing Susan, but the girl better come equipped with a killer sense of humor in addition to gun-wielding skills. Director Paul Feig wants it to be a "realistic comedy about a female James Bond." We are more than okay with that, Paul. May we suggest Jessica Biel for the role? Kerry Washington? Maybe even Natalie Portman? She may be tiny, but she's one heck of a pistol. (Jezebel)
