Today, President Obama announced in a press release that he will nominate three new judges to the U.S. District Court: James Donato, Judge Beth Labson Freeman, and Jennifer Prescod May-Parker. Donato and Labson Freeman will serve in California's Northern District; May-Parker will serve in the Eastern District of North Carolina.
As female representation grows in our government, it's great to see more women appointed to these important positions — especially as the country grapples with state's rights versus federal decisions on issues like abortion.
