Few things signify summer in D.C. so much as free outdoor movies — no matter which 'hood you call home, there's most likely a screening series happening nearby. But we're most excited about the newest addition to the roster: Union Market's just-announced DC Drive-In series. Starting in July, the foodie mecca will project movies onto their three-story exterior wall, and attendees can park in the lot, drive-in-theater style, or camp out in a picnic area reserved for attendees who walk or bike to the market. The program includes movies like The American President and No Way Out, and pre-show entertainment comes in the form of live music, contests, and giveaways. Luckily, the folks at Union Market know that a drive-in experience isn't complete without a little kitsch, so staffers on roller skates will deliver grub right to your car window. (Only this time around, you'll be dining on gourmet bites instead of chili-cheese fries.) Sounds like the perfect Friday night, right?
When: Fridays starting July 12 through August 2; screenings start at 9 p.m.
